In a sun - drenched football stadium in Guangdong, China, I sat down with Mr. Li, a seasoned football enthusiast with decades of loyalty to the local teams. The roar of the crowd in the background and the green pitch in front of us set the stage for a heartfelt conversation about the heart and soul of Guangdong football from an English - speaking fan's viewpoint.
