I have always been passionate about football. From a young age, I played in the school team, enjoying the thrill of scoring goals and the camaraderie with my teammates. However, recently, I had to make a tough decision—quitting the football team.
First, academic pressure has been overwhelming. As a high school student, I need to focus more on my studies for college applications and exams. Football practice takes up a lot of time, and sometimes it affects my concentration in class. Second, physical exhaustion. The rigorous training and matches have left me with constant fatigue, which sometimes leads to injuries. I realized that my body couldn’t handle the demands anymore without compromising my health.
Moreover, I discovered other interests, like painting and reading, which I had neglected because of football. These hobbies bring me a different kind of joy and relaxation that I hadn’t expected.
I am truly sorry for this decision. I know how much the team has relied on me and how much my absence will affect the team’s performance. I will miss the friendships and the spirit we shared on the field. I hope my teammates can understand and forgive me.
Although quitting football is hard, I believe it’s a necessary step for my personal growth. I will still support the team from the sidelines and hope they achieve great success. In the future, I plan to balance my academic life with other activities, finding a new way to stay active and engaged.
